Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is set to reopen the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) on May 21st, 2024. IRCC aims to issue 35,700 invitations to potential sponsors, with a target of approving 20,500 complete applications for Canadian permanent residence.

    Super Visa for extended visits :

If you haven’t submitted a form in 2020, there’s still an opportunity for your parents or grandparents to visit Canada for an extended period using a Super Visa:

  • The Super Visa permits visits for up to 5 years at a time, with the option for extensions while in Canada.
  • It offers multiple entries over a span of up to 10 years.
Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for a Super Visa, the host must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or registered Indian.
  • Provide the necessary documentation.
Super Visa Details :
  • The Super Visa is a multiple-entry temporary resident visa (TRV) valid for up to ten years.
  • Each visit permits a stay of up to 5 years.
  • It differs from a visitor visa, which allows a maximum stay of six months
